JUST WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?
We began as a nonprofit in 2014. Our mission was to provide OTTBs a soft landing and to help them decompress from the race track. After a couple of years we opened our hearts and stalls up to a variety of breeds that for one reason or another needed a safe place. We gathered as a staff in 2018 and decided that our wonderful horses needed jobs. Thus came Equine Journey, a non profit 501 C3, that not only gives animals a secure forever home but also provides the opportunity for youth in our community to experience the equestrian life at a reduced cost and on some instances no charge. We believe that horses provide a safe place for individuals to learn to develop a strong relationship, to experience working with others for a common goal and to develop a balanced safe way to move horses. We offer a variety of levels of riding instruction, appropriate for every age group. We teach each rider that developing a relationship both on and off theses 1000-1500 lb animals provides an experience that goes beyond the idea of faster, higher, harder…. We believe that a natural approach to riding provides a safe foundation for growth and achievement.
